So... I finally got around to encoding a HD version of my latest video and uploading it to the web. The previous videos that I've released have all been low-rez 480x270 web quality.

You can download the video from http://www.archive.org/details/321GoVideo_NEFR2007_S.Verdier

After shooting with the V1U's for about 5 months now, both Mark and I decided that we made the right choice. :) We had to change our shooting style just a few times (in minor ways) due to the limits of the camera (like rolling shutter), but so far it hasn't changed much going from our PD170's that we use to have.

Now the only thing I wish is a better in-car camera. A 520 line bullet cam just doesn't cut it anymore.

Looks really good John...from camera work to editing.
I'm curious to know specifically what you had to change in your way of shooting, because of the camera.
The in-car camera really doesn't fit ;)

The big thing is the rolling shutter. Shooting close to trees and doing a quick pan is not a good thing. The trees look slanted. Also if a flash bulb goes off it does not fill the frame. Only parts of it (and in odd shapes).

Focus is another thing. Doing interviews can be a hassle. On the small LCD it might look in focus, but on the big screen it is not.

The dynamic range of the camera also is better. I seem to be able to get shots that I never could with my PD170.

Nice job... might want to consider turning down color setting, looks a bit over-saturated. You also might want to consider an HC7 or Canon HV20 as your new in-car camera.
