Steve joins the moderators team here at DV Info Net and will be helping out with our RED Digital Cinema forum. He wrote an excellent treatise about RED which we made into a sticky: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=56302. I had the pleasure of meeting him last December and he's a hell of a nice guy, very sharp, thoroughly experienced, and he has plenty of first-hand familiarity with Jim's well-established track record of shaking up various industries. Steve will be a great asset here for all those folks interested in RED. Welcome aboard, Steve!

Thanks - I'm glad to contribute to this RED forum! DV Info Net is one of my very favorite online tech boards.

These are unbelievably exciting times in the convergent TV/video/film industry! I can't remember any time in my career when I've been more pumped up over breaking technology. As a producer, director, and DP on the front lines, I'm always looking for new tools for my trade. RED opens up some interesting possibilities across multiple niches and sub-niches of the convergent motion media industry. Look for a flood of new info on RED this coming Monday, at NAB, on the RED web site, here on the DV Info Net RED forum, in my interview with Jim Jannard, and various other online sources.

From my prior association with Jim Jannard, and my recent interview with him, I know a lot about RED and the new camera system. I can't share much of that with you today - but on Monday I think you'll get a great buzz from what will be revealed!

I work a hyper-busy schedule as a producer, director, editor, scriptwriter, DP and magazine writer, but I will visit this forum as often as possible and be at your service. Everyone won't always agree here - but we're all in the same overall media family. Respect for others is contagious...

Take a deep breath. Monday will be here quickly...
