Maybe we can post in this thread some ideas about the test shoots that they will organise for RED (or already organising).
My suggestions:
- Show all the resolutions
- Slow motion footage
- Low light footage (without additional lightening)
- A comparison RED vs XL H1/HVX200/Z1/HD-100
- A comparison RED vs Varicam/CineAlta/...
- A comparison RED vs 16mm/35mm
Can't wait untill Fall :-)

Blue screen and green screen footage with a lot of motion, actor motion and camera motion with tracking markers.

Something I would very much like to see is a a short clip, no more than a few seconds certainly, of RAW sensor footage (Together with knowing the sensor format).
Aside from being the ultimate test of the quality of the Mysterium s35 (and the lens) with no post processing/tweaking/sharpening, the subject of new compression systems comes up all the time and it would be magic to be able to work with the sort of detail the RED ONE should produce.

The first few tests would be great, but I think its unaccurate to compare red to the 1/3" cameras. Its clearly not competing with them. (if you can afford Red, why buy any of those?). Also, film has a different visual quality, so I wouldn't compare it to that either. A varicam/cinealta comparison would be nice, as would a comparison to the SI-1920HDVR. But really, comparisons are pissing contests that usually don't add up to much. I think a better test would be a series of field based tests in different situations (small crew feature, tv show, run and gun documentary, and the workflow in editing). Not to cap on you Mathieu, but i think us tech folk get wrapped up in specs and comparisons a little to much.
