I can see it now, RED Roller Blades, for the filmmaker looking for affordable dolly shots. ;-)

I love that you can do shots with this camera like you would with a Z1u or an HVX200. Aside from weighing a bit more, I dig it!

Looks like lots of fun! Is the footage from that going to be put up...or his editorial on the camera and working with it (I would hope there'll be some marketing derived from this).

I've seen shots done like that with a 35mm film camera using the video assist and a LCD monitor.

I wonder what the insurance underwriter would say about that maneuver. Or does it qualify as a stunt?

I've seen someone do it with a full size ENG camera.

At the 18lbs mentioned for the RED they're about the same weight.

Yeah Brian, I was posting less about the weight, and more to the fact that this guy isn't the first to take a camera rollerblading. The cameraman I know of, rollerbladed along the street, shooting the crowds at Princess Diana's funeral procession.

Yep, it's always hard to claim a first, you usually find it's been done in the days of silent cinema.
Neat way of picking up crowd shots.

It was fun to watch them race around the parking lot! Incredible what they can do!
