Hvx-200a/202a
Hi guys I've just come back from panasonic training session and this is what I got told by the reps.
The HVX-200A/202A will be released at NAB and will include AVC-Intra as recording option. This will be a real competitor against the EX-1 as the recording time will be upped to almost doubled than regular DVC-Pro HD recordings.

What's the difference between the 200a and 202a?
Edit: Nevermind, the 202a is the European model..

NAB is less than 24 hours away so in short order we'll find out what's real or not however, I've seen what is purported to be a PDF brochure on the 200A and there's no mention of AVC-Intra (not surprising because there's no room in the HVX for the board) and there's also a list of things they *didn't* do to the HVX - such as no upgraded LCD/viewfinder.
If the brochure is real - and the proof will come out tomorrow - then many will be disappointed with the "A" version. Better, to be sure than the original but not the makeover we had all hoped for. |

Well, looks like the AG-HPX170 is real.
"Looks like a new HVX. Weighs only 4.2 pounds -- MUCH lighter!
