Media Composer on Windows Server 2003

Just wondering if anyone has experience running the latest version of Media Composer on Windows Server 2003. It's not listed as being supported by Avid - but as it's an XP base and XP is supported I just want to know if it's possible.

Craig

I don't know of anyone who has tried this.

Why would you run it on Server 2003??

I'm sure it's probably "possible", but since every system is different (and it's not officially supported by Avid), the only way you'll know for sure if it'll run on yours is to try it.

I once tried to install Avid Xpress on Windows Server 2003. The installer did an OS check and wouldn't continue because of the "unsupported OS"

I don't know if MC does the same OS check.

Thanks guys - have it from a reliable source that it won't work.

Reason for looking for it to run on Windows Server 2003 is that we are looking at a box with a specific other piece of software that is kitted to run on Windows Server 2003 for some of it's features - and was hoping to also be able to run Media Composer on the same set up.

As we can't do it, we just have to decide the viability of keeping the setups on machines that are separate (pros and cons - but it would have been nice to have the option.)
