R.I.P. NBC's Tim Russert, 1950-2008
Very sudden, and obviously heartbreaking.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25145431/ Through "Meet The Press" et al, he set the standard for *real* broadcast journalism, a rarity these days.

I've been on MSNBC most of the day watching this but it has started to loop.
Truly a sad day. Television journalism will certainly have a large void to fill with him gone. |

R.I.P. I've seen Tim Russert, when I lived in the US.

My opinion of Tim in a nutshell, "They don't make 'em like that anymore."
I have enjoyed watching Tim hold political figures to their prior statements on numerous occasions. If you were his guest, you'd better have your ducks in a row because you can bet he sure as heck would. A saddening loss indeed. -gb-

All I have to say is...
We lost a great man. I mourn his loss, for his family's sake as well as the nation's. One can only hope that his example will lead to more reporters having the same integrity.
