Firewire <-> USB2 ?
Hi,
I'm very interested in the Optura60 as a second camcorder to my Sony VX2000 , as my old little JVC died. The Optura60 doesn't have a Firewire output. So, how would I copy miniDV tapes ? Is there a direct way to do this on a computer, perhaps as simple as a Firewire+USB2 card with "through" ability ? I would prefer to avoid copying to the disk drive, then printing back to tape. Thanks |

I would keep my options open and explore other cameras in that same price range that allow for firewire transport. The Panasonic PV-GS250 has good specs and is a 3CCD cam. Just a thought. I have two PV-GS150's for side cams, I've been happy with them.

The Optura 60 does have Firewire output. It's right there, one of the little gray logos on the bottom of the Optura Page on CanonDV.com .
All good cameras should have Firewire. It's basically a necessity with MiniDV. |
