Playback STD??
No body answered my other post... but i have another question. The Playback STD button is greyed out on the signal menu when the cam is set to VCR mode. I'm trying to capture HDV footage onto CS3 but it's not workingg! I'm wondering if that option has anything to do with why it's not working?
someone please help!!!! thanks |

You really have to set up the camcorder playback functions before you connect it to the computer via firewire. Unfortunately Canon makes these settings not automatic so firewire does have to be set up for HDV out and turned on. I am not looking at the Manual now but it isa good thing to read for this HTH

Daniel's right. Make sure the camera is *not* connected via FireWire. The menu option will then be selectable.

If I remember right - on the issue of cennecting - tis best then to connect the camera and computer with both turned off first - unless firwire has improved.

Dave is right, that is most definitely the preferred practice.
