XLH1 Best Settings

I searched the forum, but cannot find the answer. I am a Sony EX1 shooter, but my job requires me to shoot with the XLH1. I had an indoor shoot the other day. Shot everything in manual mode, gain was set to -3db, 24F, shutter 1/48th,iris adjusted for exposure. Brought the footage back and it looked extremely noisy. Are there other settings I am missing that would cause the noise, cannot post a clip yet, any setups at least that someone could share with the cleanest picture?

Thanks
Mike

How was your lighting? I have similar settings and i use the RedRock M2 system. Of course i have lights all over so i don't know about the noise issue. Take a screen shot and post it.

While all 3 chips cameras are noisy beasts, my H1 performs very well in those settings. Now, if I didn't nail exposure and was forced to boost the gamma and lift the blacks then all kinds of ugly stuff gets revealed.

You REALLY need to nail exposure with these cameras (even if that means risking the highlights a little) so you don't get too much in the blacks.
