DVD creation with Prospect/Vegas8/DVD Architect
I would like to burn some DVD's of my 24p footage from my Canon HV20. My normal workflow is to capture via HDLINK with the 3-2 pulldown removal option. I want to create a 24P DVD using vegas 8.0 and DVD architect. I currently use Prospect HD for converting into CFHD.
1. What is the best worklfow? I will play the DVD on a Sony DVD with and HDMI out to my Samsung 1080p HDTV. 2. Normally I convert my 24p footage to 1280 to 720p. Is it best to not resize and keep the CFHD capture at 1440 x 1080 24p before begining any conversion process to NTSC format? 3. Will DVD architect force me to convert to back to interlace (even though I don't want to)? I have seen this in a few threads but did not see a resolution. I don't see any need to go back to an interlace format my viewing preferences in this case. Thanks! TB |

Your workflow is fine. All SD DVDs are interlaced as there is no 24p mode (weird but true.) However a 24p source will have 3-2 pulldown re-injected with accurate repeat flags so a progressive scan DVD player can correctly restore progressive output.

Creation with Prospect/Vegas8/DVD Architect
thanks for the reply... Is there any advantage in terms of visual fidelity/spatial resolution of converting 1440x1080 to 720x480 NTSC format instead of 1280 x 720 to the NTSC format of 720 x 480...
