Illustrator Files in AE...Vector no more?

Hello!

I'm a relatively new face to the after effects land.

I'm importing illustrator objects as compositions straight into a HD720p comp in AE. I wanted to double check something about vector objects in AE, now they are within After Effects they are no longer vector objects?

I just wanted to check in case i was missing something, is this just how it is in AE?...or am i approaching this wrong? As soon as you bring anything into AE is it always now raster image?

I have seen some motion graphics work where the shapes are zoomed into and never pixelate, whats a good way of approaching this?

Hope you can help!

Cheers,

Neil

AE will rasterize your image as soon as you add it to the comp which will give you the pixelization you were noticing. To fix that there is a little check box you need to activate in your timeline next to each Illustrator layer. It's called "Continuously Rasterize" it looks like a little sun and is next to the shy layer switch, if you don't see it hit F4 and it will toggle between switches and transfer modes.
