Tiffs look jagged in Studio Pro?

I have tiffs that are just text, some are large and others small (using them for the menus). But all of them are incredibly jagged in my final DVD. (Looking at it on a computer) When I view it on a TV the quality is debatable, but this is made specifically to view on computers. Any known issues with tiffs? I can't really do a lot of trial and error, so I'm hoping for one suggestions that is worth trying.
Thanks.
