Extra Audio track for narration on DVDA

I am finalizing a documentary that requires some narration. I am wondering what is the best route: Insert the narration into the project as a finish editing using Vegas 8, or, when preparing to burn using DVDA 4.5 I should use the extra audio track.

Also what audio plugins in Vegas can I use to make the sound fuller and better - I recorded it using an Olympus recorder, and it sounds a little "metallic"...

Thanks
