Using the 4.5 version?

Can you please test if you can still start the program, then take out the usb-dongle and continue to work?

Thanks

The software without the usb-dongle reverts back to demo mode.
If you have not used your 30-day trial, you should be able to work with it.
Unplugging the dongle while the software is running didn’t stop it and it didn’t complained either (but I have never used my 30 days).

Well, I haven't tried the 4.5 version, because I was afraid that this option (to start with the usb and then take it out) would be disabled.

May I ask why haven't you used up the 4.5 trial. Is there something wrong with it?

There was no need for me to use it up.
I was updating from previous version, so the day I installed 4.0 I plug the dongle in.
My way of thinking (not conformed) is that if anything happens to the dongle, I’ll have few days before the software shuts down and I can get the replacement in the meantime.

I have 3 Canopus dongles at last count - so, I stick all 3 of them to a cheap USB hub and plug the USB hub into one of the USB slots in my PC.

1. For EDIUS itself.
2. For EDIUS Broadcast.
3. For ProCoder.
