Best 24p processing for HV30?
I'm currently using a Virtualdubmod workflow that still results in some interlacing if the cadence change is not detected smoothly.
I need to know if Cinema Tools or Cineform NEO could do better at this than Virtualdubmod. You're welcome to suggest some that I don't know of, I prefer a free solution though.

Cineform NeoHDV has been working great for me.
Follow their recommendations for settings here: HDLink Capture Settings

TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0 is the best IMHO. It costs about $100 and is worth every $.01.

Hi Peter,
I have TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0 (latest version) and used it successfully encoding SD-DVDs (from our Canon XL2 footage and Premiere Pro CS2). Now that we've bought an HV30, I've started capturing using Cineform (trial version of Aspect). Do you use Premiere Pro? If so, do you export your project as an uncompressed avi, to TMPGEnc (to make an MPEG-2 file), then burn to a DVD authoring program (like Encore) to burn an SD-DVD? Best, |

Well, on a Mac, you can just use JES Deinterlacer and have it all done automatically.

My thing is I do not want to discard fields to extract 24p. I need to retain the 1080p quality.
Right now I'm finding that processing individual shots one by one in Virtualdubmod is working well. Process it all at once and you're more likely to comb.
