Missing JVC GR-HD1U Software

After 18 months of shooting with my camera, I have finally decided to download the tapes into my computer...unfortunately I can't find the CD that came with the software...JVC wants to charge $128 for the driver disk and capture utility. I actually have the MPEG LE edit key number (no disk in the sleeve).

If anyone out there has the software I would be glad to email you information to a ftp site, or see about how to get the software.

Sorry if this covered somewhere in the forums, I could not find.

Thanks

Chris,

I tried the JVC supplied software, but could not get it to work. It might have been my computer, but I went ahead and got Aspect HD from Cineform.

There is as free capture program called CapDVHS.
Another option is to download the Cineform trial software. I believe it allows you to capture even after the trial period has expired (set to capture MT2, not Cineform)
As far as drivers go, XP should find the cam no problem. If not let us know.
Make sure your PC has the software to playback the video. If not download VLC videoLan software.

I'd just like to get a copy of the original software that shipped with the HD10U, to give it a quick try, and to have it there in case I ever decide to sell my HD10U.

Trust me the origional software is of no use to anyone. But I see where you are going with this.
