Extreme Lens On Extreme.

I have been shooting some footage of aircraft in flight over time and try to get as close as I can to the action otherwise all you get is about as inspiring to the aviation non-enthusiast as blowflies on a window.

In this case I was chasing movement of control surfaces and got a little bit of the pilot's control stick inputs over the shoulder in steep climbs as a bonus but they are hard to see.

In this case, the shoot was to help analyse the flight dynamics and control inputs and just to experiment with the lens. The last time I tried to use a 1000mm lens for this, I found it near impossible to control.

A year or two down the track and the skillset is not quite as rusty so I thought I'd give it another go, on the Extreme this time as the view can be zoomed back a little which can aid re-aquisition when a dynamic subject moves out of frame. The support rails also keep the whole affair more rigid whereas my AGUS35 setup was a bit flexible.

The lens is a f10.5 which means there are artifacts.

Anyway enough talk. Here is the link. It is a long clip and if you don't have a thing for planes, then you might like to avoid it.
