Help with DV tape transfer to Beta sp

I need the help of an expirenced Beta person!!!

I have a mini dv sony GVD1000 that i want to transfer tape from to a sony uvw1800 beta sp recorder.

i have the s video hooked up out to the uvw and i have the rca to xlr hooked up to the audio channels

the uvw still reads no signal

any help would be Greatly appreciated!

Check the input switch on the front of the UVW-1800 and make sure it's correctly set. Should be set to S-Video, also menu setting should have the machine in "EE" and you may have to press the record button to actually see video pass through. Don't forget to also set the audio input switches on the back of the deck to the 600 setting.

I have done this numerous times with no issues. I also hook up the video out and I take it into the Ref Video In. It syncs the video so the picture does not roll during recording.

i got it figured out the machine needs a reference video so that fixed it asap!
