Any current decks known to record Beta SX?

I have a potential contract for which I am preparing a quote. They would be providing me with their content for editing on over a dozen Beta SX tapes. I don't own a Betacam deck, but a local rental house does have the Sony J3 available for rent, but I can't find any conclusive info on this deck (or any others) that will tell me if it does indeed record Beta SX. This is critical, as the project requirements stipulate that the deliverable must be on a Beta SX tape.

I have never worked with Betacam before (only DV and DVCAM), so I'm trying to get as much info as I can before I submit a quote. I get the impression that Beta SX is an outdated format, is that accurate?

Well, I guess that depends on your definition. The SX editor is the DNW-A75 which appears to be out of production--not on the Sony website. But they are still in use to be sure. I don't know if they ever made a plain recorder.

That "My First Sony" J-3 is play only. Maybe rent the player for editing and rent the DNW for layback?
