Does the GZ-HD7 output FullHD 4:2:2 YUV from its HDMI port
Do you know if the GZ-HD7 outputs FullHD 4:2:2 YUV from its HDMI port?
I sure think it would.

he wants a direct capture from the camera head , bypassing recording (and compression) on camera.
Since encoding is real time on camera, you never know if the signal you get from the components/hdmi plug is before or after this encoding. A good way to test is to compare a fast pan over grass ot trees. when compressed it goes fuzzy/muddy and loose details. if it stays sharp, it means you got the signal before it is compressed. the fact that it is 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 is more difficult to test. capturing a frame taken under blue or red light and splitting the colors in a paint program could give the info. a 4:2:0 will look ugly, while a 4:2:2 will stay ok. |

Is it even YUV at all ? We have PAL and you have NTSC ... I wonder if that makes any difference ?
