Flip or upside down monitor?

I had a look, but I can't see this discussed.

I'm looking to buy a 35mm adapter and I'm a bit stuck on one question: what about buying an adapter without a flip module and putting something like a Marshall 7" monitor (upside down) on the camera to view and focus.

I'd like a monitor, and part of the cost of the flip would go towards it. It's still be more money, but it might be a better way of working - especially with the focus.

Any thoughts? Would the image by correct in an upside down monitor... or still back to front?

It's for a Sony Z7.

Thanks

Henry

Dear Henry,

Yes, you can flip a monitor and then it shows the image in the proper format.

Any camera generated information, such as the shutter speed, etc, will be upside down, but this is usually not a problem.

Thanks, Dan

I'll try it out. I think if I get a relay lens and no flip I can get a very compact set up. I didn't think about the screen info, but that should be manageable.
