Malfunctioning microphone jack

The remote mic jack on my GS400 suddenly stopped functioning properly. It now only records in mono. I've confirmed it's not the microphone. No one locally will touch it and I'll have to ship to Illinois. Curious if there is any fix I might try at home or if anyone has any insight into this problem.

Thanks.

Rhett, a typical 1/8" mini-plug socket is fragile and I'm guessing the proprietary socket on the GS400 would be even more so considering it supports multiple functions. I would definitely send your cam off for authorized repair.

Thanks, Tommy. You're probably right. I'll see if anyone else has any ideas but thanks again.
