Suggested books to learn in/outs of digital video photography...

Greetings,
I am looking for several good books, publications or video's that would be considered "teaching tools" for persons who wish to learn the in and outs of digital video photography. I took basic photography classes in college 30 years ago before there was "digital anything..." and now I find myself wanting to learn as much as I can about operating my Canon XL-H1. I've taken the classes on FCP and I can handle my Mac Pro pretty well. I use my camera to record musical performances, outdoor scenes here on the Kenai River, Alaska and to assist my clients in conjunction with my law practice.
I hope with the wealth of knowledge and expertise of the many professionals that monitor this forum, several good suggestions can be sent my way. Peace My Friends, Joe Ray Skrha
