DV Magazine Wrong?

DV Magazine states that Red will be selling Scarlet (whatever it is) at NAB with the initial 100 Red One owners having first dibs. Ummm... where'd they get this info? I remember Jim saying early on that Red One owners would have first access to Scarlet, but then I thought that idea had been shot down. Did DV Magazine get this one wrong?

This sounds pretty inaccurate. The only announcement indicated a SCARLET prototype on display at NAB...also, Jim said something about giving consideration to early adopters but had no clear announcement about how it might happen.

It would be very consistent for RED to spring a surprise on everybody, but as far as the accuracy of those statements, they certainly didn't come from the RED public record.

It would be highly inconsistent for DV Magazine to be the mouthpiece for a market-moving RED announcement.

We have said nothing like this... we will show a Scarlet prototype at NAB. We will not be taking reservations on Scarlet. Our existing customers will always have extra consideration on new products but we haven't decided exactly what that means yet. When Scarlet does ship, production will be high enough to satisfy early demand.
