Re: The Great C100 Banding Mystery

I definitely see it. I have no idea what would cause that. It's very precise too... almost like it is an intentional filter effect.

I've never seen this on anything I've shot with the...

Re: The Great Canon XL Series Revival Thread

The Nanoflash does real-time pulldown removal on the interlaced HD-SDI stream, so you can get a progressive file. Furthermore, it applies the selected bitrate to the video after the interlaced...

Re: The Great Canon XL Series Revival Thread

I will always love the XL series cameras. I invested heavily in the last iteration (XL H1S) and got everything for it, from all the lenses to mounting an Anton Bauer Dionic system on the back...

Re: C100 mark ii or C300?

Gary is right. Especially if you are working within broadcast news... they will take quite a long while to migrate over to 4K. Camera acquisition in 4K is one thing... but for major broadcast...

Re: Canon STM Lenses

I have both the EF-S 17-55 and the EF-S 18-135 STM lens for my C100 MII.

The EF-S 18-135 STM is a good all-around lens and provides silent fast autofocus with the camera. In addition, it...

Re: C100 mark ii or C300?

I also heartily recommend the EF-S 17-55 f2/.8 IS. It is really fantastic on this camera... great starting wide to mid-telephoto, constant 2.8, Image Stabilization, and great optics.

The 24-105...

Re: C100 mark ii or C300?

I've used both cameras extensively and produce/shoot for broadcast all the time. And I recently purchased the C100 M2.

The main thing about the 50mb MXF from the C300 isn't so much the quality,...

Re: C100 Mark II with Ninja

I use a Nanoflash with my C100 Mark II. I have it attached to the threaded mount on the handle.

Ultimately for the nest image quality out of the camera, you'll want to use an external recorder. ...

Re: new viewfinder for H1

No, I am connecting using the HD-SDI output of the Nanoflash. But HDMI will also work as well with this setup. I just prefer the locking connector of the HD-SDI cable.

Re: new viewfinder for H1

After all these years with my XL H1S, I finally found the perfect solution to the viewfinder.

I recently bought the Alphatron Retina EVF along with their ENG-EVF bracket. Combined with a little...

Re: Canon Vixia HF S200 24p?

That's strange. The camera has a native 24p mode that should capture at 23.98 in FCP. It has worked for me before.

Hopefully the mentioned solution as worked for you.

AJA Kona Lhi PCIE Video I/O card

I have decided to put this card out for sale. It is a fantastic I/O card that I used with Final Cut Pro.

It works perfectly. The main reason for selling honestly is the fan on the card, which is...

Re: Damaged XL H1A 20x lens (5.4-108 mm) and viewfinder; Need help

That's odd. They just looked at my XL H1S not too long ago and serviced it fine.

The XL H cams are still sited under CPS and count towards their gear membership count.

I would give the Canon...

New Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM prime

I recently bought this lens from B&H for my Rebel SL1, but am interested just using the 40mm pancake to keep the whole camera as small as possible. Since it's a little past 30 days since I bought...

Re: XL H1 w Samurai still make sense w. all the new options out there?

Yes I can second what Marty is saying (hi Marty!). With something like a Nanoflash or Samurai, you are capable of recording the uncompressed signal and keeping its quality for the most part. So that...

Re: is the Canon XHA1 still a good camera?

The XL H1 was the 1st low cost HD camera to offer this along with timecode and genlock ports.

The HD-SDI port streams out the uncompressed video signal with 4:2:2 color space. So by using a...
