Re: DIY 39" Slider

Drill a hole near the end, thread it with tap and die, screw a 3" or so bolt in partially. Do the same on the other end. It'll stop the slide.

Re: Lumix 45-200 Zoom

An affordable solution, if you really like the zooming in and out look (I hate it) is one of those $150 follow focus rigs. Your zooms will be butter smooth.

Re: ETC and GH2 hack.....

I think you need to find out a little bit more about the hack, they're getting remarkable results with the 176 intra frame hack. It's not "marginal" improvement. It's dramatic change. Gamechanger.

Re: RED Epic versus Panasonic GH2!!!

The Epic is not heavy. Body weighs only 7 pounds. The RED One is another story though. That thing weighs more than a bank vault.

Re: Sample clips discussion

Here's a video I worked on, we used all three of my GH2's (unhacked) and a variety of lenses, from vintage Pentax 50mm 1.4 to the Oly 14-55mm m43.

Larusso's WICKERMAN (2011) - YouTube...

Re: Anyway to adapt a Canon 20x HD Video Zoom XL to a GH2?

The problem is the GH2 has a huge sensor relative to the Canon. It won't work.

The fun zone for GH2 begins with 16mm glass, and even with that, you need to be in ETC mode (cropped).

Re: GH2 vs Sony NEX-5N

To my knowledge, no, no one has come up with any cool profiles. However the hack is proceeding with leaps and bounds. There's 175 mb/sec hack right now that is amazing. You get discreet frames with...

Re: Panasonic GH2: Best Video DSLR For The Price?

GH2 has the most resolution and cleanest image of any DSLR by a long shot.

The only competitor to my mind is the Canon 5d with its huge sensor and wide angle capability. GH2 is still...

Re: Left angle mini HDMI for the GH2?

Joe, I've tried both of these, in combination and alone. Epic fail.
Personally I think a cage w/clamp is the only viable way to use an external monitor with GH2. I've tried.

Re: Left angle mini HDMI for the GH2?

There's a high end cage made by TrustMT that has a brilliant HDMI clamp. Bullet proof.
The $99 Shrigg can easily be adapted to solve this issue as well.
You can also order just the TrustMT clamp...

William, it takes a little fiddling, but it's not too bad to adapt. You'll never get tech support from the seller though, that guy has his hands full.

Best thing for me about the shrigg is you...

Re: Getting a video camera

24p has a different motion signature than 30p or 60. If you want your footage to look filmic, use 24p. It's really that simple. If you want a harsher, LIVE look, use 30/60p.

Re: GH2....A little more pro looking

Mark,
I have a similar set up. I think that's the Shrig Jig and rail system right? I think they're great and transform the GH2 in to some way better looking and far more functional. It's a great...

Re: GH2 vs Sony NEX-5N

The reason I wouldn't want the Sony is it aliases worse than the 7d in 720p mode, I owned a 7d and that aliasing was awful in 720. Also, if you get the EVF, the price is higher than GH2.
