The beauty of P2 is that it caters for shooters from the Budget end, to the Top end, I've found Budget will dictate what gear you use.

Hi Sam,
yes lots of older gear still giving great service, and as stated earlier shooting DVCPro25 my old SPX800 it ingests fast, encodes fast, and is still great quality when up-loaded via FTP....

Well, after reading all this thread on the (empty cased) HPX600 , i'll keep using my old trusty SPX800 till it dies, shooting 50mbs in SD it still gives great images since 2005, all networks I feed...

Yes you may be right, the extra weight in my old P2 is the drop in wireless receiver, and the SDI card plus a firewire card, I used the firwire port for some time before P2 cards became available....

A friend of mine has a 502, only hassel he had was that he slammed a card in too hard one day and did some pin socket damage I believe, (just replaced the card slot part)...

I have the older SPX800 P2 and touch wood only prob i ever had was the Flip out screen ribbon cable gave it in after 4years of service, It's still my current kit, and still gives great SD...

This offering is close , but not close enough for us (PC slotted) P2 users.... but still interesting that products are being designed and manufactured, if they can do it for an expresscard adapter...
