Re: Looks like I'm getting GH4

I just came across this which, despite all the fancy crossfade/editing malarkey, shows quite a cinematic image for the GH4 I thought (Just personal opinion)

Re: Looks like I'm getting GH4

I have a couple of C100s for my video work and I have recently got the GH4 as a 'going out and about' camera.

If I was in your position what would i do? I'd wait and buy the C100. I'm consistently...

Re: Best b-camera for C100

Wide shot GH4 and side shot 5D3. Good matching. better than I've managed.

Re: 3rd Party shotgun mic mount?

I simply put a couple of rubber bands round my Shotgun mic and it wedges in nicely. loose enough to absorb some vibrations, but tight enough to be held firmly.

Like you, not ideal, but it works.

Re: Best b-camera for C100

Snap.

The C100 and GH4 have a roughly similar look I find but I wouldn't dump the C100s yet.

Frequency for Mexico

Hi,
I'm based in the UK but have a shoot in Mexico in a couple of weeks' time. Do I set the frequency on the C100s to 60 in the menu? And leave the shutter speed at 180 degrees?

Should I then...

Re: C100 opinions

I use a couple of C100s and have the Af on one but not on the other. I'm finding I use it more and more for events and doco work where things are moving fast and it's fine that the main subject is in...

Re: Im about to make the jump....HELP!

I use the 24-105 and the 18-135 and they're both great lenses for the c100s. As for the Canon 85 1.8, it's long been one of my favourites. Somehow it sprinkles faerie dust on my pics on the 5D3 and...

Re: Canon it's Feb. 2014, is the C100 AF upgrade available yet?

I agree about the price. I'm running two and can only afford to get one done at the moment. Happy with the one that works though.

If I'd known they were going to change their minds about adding it...

Re: C100: Be happy!

My clients aren't bothered about 4K yet either, and the longer I can be 'not bothered' about it, the easier life is here at Action Towers.

For what I do, corporate, doco interviews and events, I...

Re: Canon it's Feb. 2014, is the C100 AF upgrade available yet?

Mine arrived back this morning and I used it on a shoot at lunchtime which was a bit more run and gun than I was expecting. Pretty impressed with the results.

It left me more time to work on the...

Re: C100 with AF upgrade examples

THESE ARE SUPERB! Love the shots and the capabilities of the new autofocus. Just got mine back about half an hour ago and looking forward to using it on a shoot later today.

Thanks

Re: Canon it's Feb. 2014, is the C100 AF upgrade available yet?

Re: Canon it's Feb. 2014, is the C100 AF upgrade available yet?

Dave
could you list which lenses are noisiest possibly? Im thinking of sending one of my C100s away for the upgrade and would like to know more about what you think.

Another thing that occurred...

Re: 18-135 STM with C100

Just got one. going to have a play with it over the weekend. First test not brilliant. A little too slow for my liking I think. But the DSLR Newshooter test of the new dual pixel auto focus looked a...

Re: SLow FCPX - I mean really slow

Both late 2009 16 in the iMac, 8 in the MBP. 512 VRAM in both. i5 processors I don't use those compound clips much as they tend to crash things nicely.
I always transcode from the 5D3 and the C100...

SLow FCPX - I mean really slow

Had FCPX since its launch and started to use it on commercial jobs about a year ago instead of FCP7. But I'm finding it so clunky and slow on both my MacBook Pro 17" and iMac 27" that I'm thinking of...

Re: c100 users enlighten me from the 60d

I think what you might be missing is a couple of things that make it better than a DSLR and how its more natural and 'grown up' look gives a more professional finish.

I have the 5D3 as well as...
