DV-PC Recorder

Hello !

I got the XL2 and it mentioned to go to www.canondv.com to download the DV-PC Recorder software. I did, but wasn't able to find it in there.

Could anyone tell me where exactly to get it ?

Thanks !

Frank

If you do a search in this forum for DV-PC Recorder, it should bring up several discussion threads where this is already talked about. Hope this helps,

Hi Frank,

Here's one of the threads that Chris is referring to. It has a link and some other good info and opinions about it:

I suspect that some manager at Canon USA needs a fire lit under them for STILL not having made these kind of advertised extras available on the USA web site, or at least a link to the software on the Canon Europe site (which is where I got mine -- works fine in the USA):

http://www.canon-europe.com/xl2/down...ageID=222802#1

I've used it a little around the house with my XL2 firewired to a laptop. It is a simple utility without bells and whistles. Very nice to have a separate file recorded in real time for each shot. Saved me a lot of hassle doing test shots in different modes that would have been a real pain to record and capture with tape...different frame rates and aspect ratios, etc.

I JUST deleted that yesterday, if only I read this before.. sorry.. heh.

I never used it, I use Scenalyzer Live to capture. And let me tell you, it ROCKS.

Has anyone had any luck using DV-pc with any other Canon DV camera besides the XL2? specifically the GL family.

Never mind, just tried it, the GL1 is not compatible with the DV-pc recorder.
