Cineform: Is it so necessary?

In some forum I've read that using Premiere Pro without AspectHD is pointless. Maybe I didn't understand something in context but I've got a question - Is this software from Cineform such a necesary stuff? Should I replace native software (DVgate) in my Sony AR11SR by this software? And what disadvantages has PPro so that I have to use Cineform's soft?

cineform makes it so much easier on your system to handle hd. I have a very nice system and could run fine without it but I couldnt live without using aspect to edit in pp2.

and the guys at cineform (the David's in particular) are always here to help answer our questions even on weekends :)

Cineform is a really, really good idea

I don't know about DVGate, but the advantages of Aspect HD are huge.

If you use After Effects, it makes it possible to edit HDV. Even Adobe admits that HDV and AE are not a good pair. But with Aspect HD, it works fine.

The fact that HDV can be edited on less powerful PCs is important, but you should see it fly on my up-to-date system. The acceleration provided is amazing.

Multiple generations hardly lose any quality with the wavelet technology they use. Compared to native HDV it is considerably better.

Try it for yourself. There is a 15 day fully functional trial. Edit without it. Then edit with it. You'll see.

I have a PC that's slightly below Cineform's minimum specifications, yet Aspect HD enables me to edit HDV footage as easily as DV. Even better, actually -- the same transitions I have to render in DV can be previewed in real time in HDV thanks to Cineform.

the day cineform goes AVCHD and DVCPRO, there will be no more questions.
the great thing to work under one good quality format, whatever the source was, is a tremendous advantage.

Doing P2 based DVCPRO today, and for AVCHD we are just waiting for a stable decoder to license.
