Processor speed limit?

What is the optimum limit for processor speed required to do the most difficult job using the SI DVR. Is there a point after which more processor speed is irrelevant for this camera.

I would assume the most difficult task using the DVR right now is doing 12bit Uncompressed at 2K 60fps at the highest settings?

Bandwidth-wise, yes . . . processing power, no.

1) you can't get 2K/60P . . . you can only get a max of 2048x1152 at 25fps, and 2048x1080 at 30fps.

2) CineForm RAW requires processing power . . . uncompressed requires disk-bandwidth.

3) The main GUI requires a good GPU, and if you don't have a good GPU, then it requires a good processor so that the display and the CineForm RAW recording can happen all at the same time.

Probably the biggest stress you could put on the system right now would be something like dual-screen bilinear display mode at full-screen 2K resolutions, CineForm RAW recording at highest quality, 2K/25fps, +12db gain (higher gain makes more noise which stresses the CineForm encoder more), audio recording, and floating point LUT's enabled with an active alpha-channel (green-screen key). Also make the histogram active during the live display as well (that eats up some CPU cycles).

Thanks,

Jason
