Help..

OK, can this HDR be used as a standalone recorder. Say if I wanted to record without using tape could i manually start the dr60 and record what the camera is pointed at? That is what I am trying to do, record my stuff, and maybe use a tape as an archive, directly onto a dvd to reduce hd usage and amount of time spent in post shooting while having to play back the video real time directly into Final Cut etc... I m using a xl1...

Thanks in advance...

Hi Brian
Yes you can. The buttons could be better for rec / stop, but beside that, no problem. I do it a lot.
