Time code bleedthrough

We just took delivery of two V1-U cameras, everything looked fine until one of our field recordists plugged in his 7506 headphones and cranked up the monitor volume. Without any input to the XLR connectors, he could hear what sounded like timecode coming through the phones. To make matters worse, the test tape he recorded revealed the same noise was laid to tape!! Has anyone else faced this situation? Oh, and the icing on the cake is that the problem is present in both cameras!!!!
