The lens remote connector is already on the stock lens, or will be on the lens you are going to buy.

The EX3 lens mount uses a hot shoe connection, so the connection is via pins built in to the lens mount. The EX3 mount to Sony 1/2" adapter supplied with the camera also has a hot shoe so no cable is needed if using a Sony mount 1/2" lens. The current issue is that while you can get 1/2" to 2/3" adapters there is no simple way to get iris data and power to a 2/3" lens, as a result you can only use 2/3" lenses manually. Fujinon are bringing out an EX3 to 2/3" B4 adapter that will include a standard 12 pin lens control socket, transferring the connection from the EX3 hot shoe to the socket.

From what I have been told by my Sony dealer, this adapter will cost a pretty packet - in the thousands.

I'll stick to my XS17x lens.

Cheers

I agree, I doubt it will be cheap. It wouldn't surprise me to see some 3rd party adapters.
