Question about one photo on flickr shot by nikon d3

Hello everyone,

I noticed that there is one photo on flickr got bands on blue sky. I never notice that on my d40. Is it normal?

TIA

Regards

There is some kind of problem in the way the image has been managed. If the camera or the lens product a problem (such as banding or vignetting) then both can be easily managed in the high resolution original under basic editing controls.

If the JPEG formatting is inferior (such as saving the file many times in JPEG format, the sharpness is too high (seems likely) or the ISO is making too much noise.

It just depends on the way in which the image was manipulated. I dont seem to have any of these problems myself. It only seems prominent in post-imaging.

Below is an image shot on a Konica Z6 (hand supported resting on a rock with a credit card under the camera). Looks just like a commercial image shot with a superior system.

This image was made with a vastly simpler camera than a D3. So it really depends on how you handle the files. The panorama is made from 6 images.
