International Documentary Hires 25p footage in 24p project?

What I'd like to do is I'd like to hire a New Zealand cameraman to pick up some extra "pick up" shots as New Zealand goes into the 2008 elections. Problem is, anyone I hire will probably have 25p or 50i cameras, and all the other footage for the project is 24p.

Should I ask to film in 25p or 50i? What's the best way to convert it into my project (I'm on a Mac)?

Advice?
