Raw footage questions

Hi Everyone

I would like some input regarding raw footage.

Lately we have had a few couples ask for raw footage which right now we don't provide. I was thinking of maybe doing a rough edit (cut out movements, and no post work) and chuck on a DVD(s).

Who does and doesn't provide raw footage and why?

If you do provide what format dp you provide it, DVD or tapes? And how much extra do you charge if you do put it on a DVD?

I personally don't know if this is worth it as it seems to me time consuming and conflicts the quality of the final/proper product that we provide but then the clients are asking for it.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

See discussion here.

I sell it for $300 and have not had a single taker and only one mildly interested Father Of Bride who was an amateur editor.

I may up the price more because I honestly don't want people to see the before footage. Why? It isn't an accurate representation of my work. Luck would have it that they woudl see clip #1 where I'm killing time before the wedding and shooting random interesting stuff and think I was horrible because they didnt' know I was shooting with slow-mo or short screen grabs in mind.

Thanks for the link and the info, looks like you feel the same way as I do, so I guess just charge plenty so I am compensated for it.
