Lovin' the depth throughout that piece Walt, especially when paired with that gorgeous location. Must be a tough place to live.

Thanks P. It is tough but you know what it's like around these parts.
Just wait till I get this rig mounted on that Flyer. :)

Thanks J.
That was the Letus EX. I think you need an Ultimate.

That's awesome - so great that they soldiered on through the rain - something really special about that.

Love the 35mm footage through the ceremony - what lens did you use?

Cheers,

Matthew.

Hey Matthew,

Your Shootsac promo is attracting quite the attention. Great piece!
I used my trusty Nikon 50mm f1.4

Thanks for checkin it out.

Thanks! We're a bit overwhelmed with the response it has received.

Have you compared the 50mm 1.4 with a 50mm 1.8? I've got the Nikon 50mm 1.8 and am always tempted by the 1.4 but just not sure if it's worth it.

Cheers!

Matthew.

There is just less light loss and a little more prominent DOF in the 1.4

If I were you, I would not buy another 50mm but instead buy something else close like a 60mm, 70mm or even a 30mm or 20mm.

Thanks Walter. Sounds like a good plan.

Liked the small dof as well, wasn't it difficult to handle? I noticed a lot of shifting in focus during the vows which was distracting, that's ok for creative shots but I didn't like it with the tripod shots actually. It also seems to be needing quite lot of light to get good exposed shots because I saw some that were really dark.

Well, you get used to it. The first time I used the adapter, it was a little awkward with the extra weight and such but that is like anything in the world of video equipment and you eventually adapt.

This is not the adapter's fault but my choice in camera, the HVX. It's probably the most challenging camera in it's class for wedding work in terms of noise, low light and LCD resolution....but it works.

Thanks for checkin it out.

That is my favorite wedding video so far! How did you get the non-glossy, film like quality? Dang, and the rain, so lucky, the umbrellas, a Fellinni moment! The bride was also very expressive, very lucky. Not to mention the location. Would mind disclosing the settings for the camera? In any case, good work!

Thanks Erick!

The look has to be credited mainly to the Panasonic Mojo. I also crushed the blacks and tweaked the contrast in post.

I shoot mostly flat but I do turn the Master Ped down to get rid of some noise and shoot mainly in Cinelike-D.
