Vegas to DVDA 5.0 Blu-ray workflow?

I used to prepare Blu-ray discs from M2T files on the V8 timeline, which was usually a fairly quick process, since no compression was required. Now that I want to use DVDA 5.0, I'm finding that those same M2T files suddenly require compression, and they take forever to render. Why is this? The project properties that created those M2Ts in V7 are the same as those of the DVDA project - MPEG-2, 1440x1080-60i, 16:9.

Just to experiment, I used a one-minute M2T clip, video only (to make sure DVDA wasn't trying to render AC3 files from the M2Ts), which according to the manual should be able to bypass additional compression. But when I go to optimize the project, it tells me that it's going to compress the M2T file anyway. When I use the Blu-Print template to create a similar M2V file, it lets it slide without compression. Not that I'd mind having to use Blu-print mind you, but I'd rather avoid the second step of rendering an audio stream.

Am I missing something regarding DVDA 5.0 & M2Ts?

What is this Blu-print thing? I don't see anything in V8 about it.

Sorry, I meant the Blu-ray templates under Render As in V8. V7 had a couple of similar templates called Blu-Print. I use the two versions interchangeably, so I get confused sometimes.

Blu-print is some Sony subroutines designed for the Sony Blu-print software. I believe Blu-print is a mastering system designed for professional mastering houses.

Bill is correct, Blu-Print is the standard Blu-ray authoring application in the professional industry (has been for a couple years).

Bob, if you use the DVD Prep tool for Vegas, it'll eliminate the extra audio prep. It's free...
