Trouble with event grouping

With lots of clips on the timeline, & some are grouped, how do I simply move one event in the middle, with its audio, without moving the others.

When I turn off auto ripple, grouped events move, but if I turn off grouping, then the audio does not move with the event. --

Oh why is it so complicated ??

How about this:

1. Click on the video to select.
2. Hold down Ctrl and click on the audio to also select it.
3. Press U to ungroup them from any previous grouping.
4. Press G to group them together.
5. Move them to their new location.

I would simply turn on "Ignore Event Grouping", select those TWO events, move them, and then turn off "Ignore Event Grouping".

I suppose it comes down to how much work you are doing with the moved segment. Edward's method is quicker, but the event will still be grouped with its former compatriots. This may turn out to be inconvenient. My method is better if you need more flexibility.

Usually if I have my events grouped to other events, it's for a reason. My method keeps that relationship intact. I guess it boils down to whether or not the grouping needs to remain.
