Is this the right rod system for my camera?

I need a rod support system for my GL2 so I can add a matte box and maybe follow focus. Is this what I need? Help!

i'm unaware of any follow-focus setups for the gl2.

may i ask why you need a rod support system for your camera? rod supports help take the weight off the front of the camera and takes the strain off the lens mount. they also support follow-focus systems. when you have a mountable lens and stack up a couple of glass filters in a matte box on the front of it, the weight adds up. thankfully for you and your wallet, your gl2 does not match these criteria...

and why do you need a matte box? are you concerned with light control that the included lens shade isn't giving you? if you're looking to stack some quality filters in front of your lens, you should look at the formatt and century optics matte boxes. i believe they make their matte boxes for 52mm threads.

i bought the cavision for my xl1/s a little while ago, and it's proven useful once in a while, but it was definitely a low priority purchase for me. i would personally spend the money you're looking to spend on a nice set of lights or a decent audio package.

I have a 35mm adapter with prime and zoom lenses that need support. See the Alternative Imaging thread for more info. I currently own the Letus35, which, when combined with a decent zoom lens and the battery pack, is quite a lot of heft. This is also the accessory that requires follow focus.

I mentioned the matte box because, simply, the included lens shade doesn't fit on the zoom or prime lens for obvious reasons. I'm just wondering if this rod support system will work for my camera, bottom line.

thanks for clarifying. the cavision rods and mounting plate are pretty much universal. all aspects of positioning can be modified by removing a couple of screws, moving the plate up/down, left/right, and replacing the screws. step up rings are available in various sizes to accomodate the matte box, but i'm not sure what kind of threads you're looking at for your lenses. bottom line, the rods should fit.

Awesome. Thanks.
