Adobe Premiere Combine clips?

Hey everyone! I'm a newb in these forums, so please have patience if this question has already been asked (I searched but couldn't find it anywhere). I am using Adobe Premiere 6.0, and I was wondering if it were possible to combine clips, by this I mean in the way that you can use the razor tool to split clips I was wondering if you could somehow combine these clips back together. I ask because it would be far more practical for me to apply filters to a larger clip as opposed to a bunch of seperate short clips. I would appreciate any advice (other than to buy Vegas because I can't afford it!!) Thanks for reading my post, keep shooting DV!!

Just put the clips on the timeline and export to movie. Hey presto, one combined clip!

I think, also, that you may be able to combine clips into a virtual clip, and then apply the filters to that. But I'll have to look into that.

Many effects/fliters can be copy/pasted from one clip to another though.

To confirm the above, you can combine clips into a virtual clip and applt effects to that, or copy/paste effects from one cip to another

Hi Nigel,
Thanks so much! Works like a charm!! I was hoping that there was just another function I was overlooking, but doing it this way is still worth the one extra mouse click! lol.

It seems that PPro 2 still doesn't have the ability to combine clips once they've been cut/razored.

In this thread, I saw mention of a "virtual clip" but can't find anything in HELP about it, nor in the PPro 2.0 "Bible" by Wiley.

Obviously, a virtual clip is some pseudo-combination of more than 1 clip. Does PPro 2 allow them? How does one create a virtual clip in PPro 2?

Yes it can - Read about Nested Sequences in the manual or PPro help files.
