Can't import .MPEG into new project

Hey guy's,
It seems ever since I decided to get an HD camera I am having problems that once never existed. I am trying to pull of short clips from various .MPEG's but for what ever reason I am can't view the footage in the editing display window?

All I am getting is the "Yellowish - Media Pending" Comments.

Does anyone have any idea what this means and how can I import these files for editing?
The only way this has not been a problem is if I am using the same project that i used in the "capture"

This is footage taken with an XHA1

OK, It seems this is a non issue. I guess I was unaware of the "Conforming" process. For what ever reason this takes a very long time than what I am used to. I guess the HD footage is just labor intensive for this PC I am on.
