video is half speed ??
 

Hey guys.

Very new to adobe so i'm of course having a bit of trouble at the easiest things !

I was just hoping someone could help me...

i've got a 7 second clip i've imported into adobe, i've set the project properties to match that of the footage, and same with the sequence settings. But the video seems to be set at 12.49 fps and when i change it around it messes with the speed of the audio levels...

From what VIDEO camera did you capture, with what settings was it shot, how did you capture and what are your sequence settings? Oh, what codec is in use?

i've used a samsung HMX 20c to record these clips, i was filming at 50i, 1920x1080, codec i believe is mp4, h.264... altho i'm not sure.

I could be wrong on this but its my best guess...

from Premier reporting that its a XDCAM EX file....

I thought that the XDCAM EX format has a small preview file that was MP4....

If I'm right then you are trying to edit the preview file instead of the master file....

I'm not sure how you go about processing a Samsung file... did the Samsung come with
a software disk??

AFAIK the Samsung is AVCHD, not XDCAM-EX. The data rate is all wrong for XDCAM. Try to change your sequence settings to AVCHD and import your clips. See if that helps.

k its still setting the files frame rate at 12.49 fps even if i change the project settings to avchd 1080i

This is weird. Could it be that the camera originally was a NTSC model, now sold as a PAL version but sill having a DF and then running at 1/2 normal speed? That would account for the shown FPS.

No idea...
I did buy it second hand, but it was from a UK seller and the box was PAL.
Anyway, if you think that could solve my problem i'll sure as hell give it a go tonight !!

i might try lowering the quality of the recording, from super fine to just fine, and see if it makes it any better !
