New Adobe Updates available - Premiere 4.1, After Effects and AME

Heads up fellas,
I checked the adobe updater, it looks like the day has finally come!

Just updated Premiere to 4.1, After Effects CS4 9.02 and Adobe Media Encoder 4.1.
I'll report back after testing this.

here's also a video I found that highlights some of new features:

James,

Please let us know how encoding in AME compares. I'm encoding a large file now and don't want to stop it to install the patch.

Thanks,
Glenn

So far everything seems to work smoothly. I cant really tell if there is any performance improvements so far with AME (since it was pretty fast prior to the update anyhow on Core i7 Vista 64 system). But I do like all the added features (VOB and direct from DVD editing, bringing back frame capture, more AVCHD presets (720p)). One improvement I did notice is faster loading of large projects. I still have to play around further with it to see if any other improvements. I look forward to Cineform's next update now that Adobe's 4.1 update is released, mainly the RT engine.

details about the After Effects 9.0.2 update and RED support

I've got a summary of the After Effects 9.0.2 update and the changes to RED (R3D) support on my blog.

Hello Todd,

I have noticed that the render speeds from Adobe Media Encoder when rendering out is a lot faster then before. The udpates seems to of sppeded this up, however the preview window which shows you the encoding progress in Adobe media Encoder is not there any more?

AME changes

Hmmm...

I'm not as in-tune with the AME changes as I am with the After Effects changes. I'll pass this on to a colleague and see what he has to say.

NOTE: moved this thread from the Cineform forum and created a new thread for feedback to Cineform. Please post to this thread for comments related specifically to CS4 products and here for feedback/discussion on Cineform-related issues in the post 4.1 world.

Can't wait to download and give it a spin!

Go into the AME preferences and turn it on - I think the update shut it off.
