Proxy File Linking - Simple question!

Hey guys,

Just a quick q for you Premiere experts. I'm editing HDV footage in Premiere CS4. I've made some lower quality proxy files to work with inside Premiere with the hopes of making them offline, then linking back up with the originals...typical protocol.

My problem is that if I have proxy files that are in .mpg and my originals are in .mov, Premiere doesn't seem to like to auto-locate the rest of the originals (ie I can point to one file and it automatically links to the rest).

I've tried it with .mov linking to .mov files and it works perfeclty fine. But between file types doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to get around this dillema?

thanks alot for any help!!
