AE Dynamic link renders but won't export

Howdy...

MacPro 2008, Quadro 4000.

I have a situation here that's a little strange... I have an AE project that I have dynamically linked into my PP timeline. It's one of several, however all the others are very simple AE animations that use no outside media...

The AE comp in question is actually a zoom into a fairly simple Illustrator graphic map of the USA. There's a drop shadow on the map (in illustrator). Cont. rasterize is turned on, and we zoom in from the whole map to just one state (Alabama, if you care...:-).

So, in Premiere, this plays very slowly, but does play, and I can render the effect if I have the pateince, but when I try to actually export it, it get to that point in the TL and just hands. Doesn't matter if I use AME or not, and doesn't seem to matter whether I use MRQ, GPU Accel, etc...

Again the other AE comps work fine (but are simpler), but this one doesn't. My work-around was to export the comp as a MOV from AE, and then just import the final MOV into PP, but of course that defeats the benefits of dynamic linking...

Any help is appreciated...

Best,

Ben
