Backwards Compatibility

Hi guys - I am buying a brand new system and upgrading from PPro1.5 to CS5.5 - I have a dozen or so projects on the go but my Matrox system is hellish buggy and I really need to upgrade before these projects are put to bed

So my question is - can 5.5 open projects from 1.5 or will I have to export some sort of batch list and then import it into 5.5?

Cheers in advance

Pete

Re: Backwards Compatibility

In theorie 5.5 should open a 1.5 project, but many effects have been deleted over the years.
You wont be able to use the Matrox effects used in the project.
Titles will probably give issues.
Maybe its even better to open the projects first in CS3 then move on to CS5.5.
My advice on this would be finish in 1.5 and start fresh in 5.5.
Backward compatible means you can open a project in a lower version.
Premiere is in theory not backwards compatible.
