Plates: Matching stills to footage
I am having trouble adjusting the color of my stills background plates to my footage using Photoshop for use in Premiere with a matte around moving objects
Does anyone have any hints? The photos are taken with the same shutter speed, exposure and ISO as the AVCHD video so they are close, but not close enough |

Reading it again I realize my description of the problem was a little hard to follow.
I did some investigation on color correcting/matching and came across this tutorial How to Color Correct in After Effects (The RIGHT Way!) | Michael DeVowe Creative Works Blog I ended up using the method he suggests for correcting the footage to match it instead. The matte around the moving train is much less obvious now. When the man is walking along the path it is all video, then at about 0'07" it switches to the still... |

Thanks for sharing the tutorial. That's a great tip using Photoshop picker tool and curves to get precise color. Cheers
